Before and After Care
Newark Day Nursery & Children's Center offers before and after school programs for children through 8th grade, with full days during holidays and full day Summer Camp. Our program features a low child/staff ratio, with recreational activities including special interest clubs each semester such as cooking, nature, drama, computer and journalism clubs. We also offer a "state of the art" playground with newly installed equipment designed specifically for children 6 to 12 years of age. For more information please call 302-731-4925 or visit our website at www.newarkdaynursery.org.
Tutor Time of Newark, a Middle States accredited center, is pleased to offer NCS students before/after care, and/or tutoring services. We will provide morning and afternoon transportation for both services. Tutor Time also offers care during holiday weeks and in-service days. Tutor Time is located at 491 South Harmony Road near MBNA, Christiana Hospital and 95. For more information, please call 292-3529 or visit our website at www.tutortime.com

P.J. Fitzpatrick, Inc., a well-known home remodeling contractor in Delaware , has offered to donate 5% of the proceeds from every job they complete for a customer referred by Newark Charter School . The company will donate up to $250 to NCS per every roofing, siding, window, door or gutter job. To qualify for this program all you have to do is mention that you called P.J. Fitzpatrick as a result of a referral from NCS. For more information about P.J. Emergency Closing Information

During snow or other inclement weather, the Newark Charter School will independently announce its school closings or late starts. When weather forecasts indicate the possibility of hazardous driving conditions or impassable roads, the decision whether to close the school or open late will be made prior to 6:30 a.m. the day of closing. The decision will be announced periodically by the following stations: WDEL, WILM, and TV channel 10. In the event it is necessary for early dismissal, these same stations will make the announcements.

Also, the State Department of Education has a web page that lists school closings, as well as an e-mail service whereby parents can look up school closing/late start information, or be notified automatically through email.
